Outlook with Active Sync

Murka

I just purchased a new PDA- IPAQ Classic 111. I was previously using an
older IPAQ 2000 series and Outlook 2003. I installed the version of Active
Sync that came with the new PDA. I was able to sync all of my calendar and
my tasks, but my contact list did not load on the new PDA.

When I called HP, they told me I needed to upgrade to Outlook 2007. Is this
true or is there some way I can get the contact list to sync. It does not
show up on the "sync window" when the PDA updating.

Thanks

This is an HP issue not an Outlook issue. So it may be true. We wouldn't
know. You could ask in an ActivSync group to see if anyone can confirm.

ActiveSync 4.5 is the last version of ActiveSync available and it works fine
with Outlook 2002-2007. It also works fine with any iPAQ I know.

You might want to ask in microsoft.public.pocketpc.activesync

I have basically the same problem, but I have outlook 2007 and the contacts
continue to not show up in my contact list on outlook. I have an IPAQ 111 and
the new active sync. I had no troubles for the first 8 months and then I had
to reinstall outlook and now the contacts do not work. I would apprieciate
any help. Thanks

A new mail profile and a new partnership is what I'd try. Backups are
important in this case, both from the Outlook side and the iPAQ side. The
correct place to ask ActiveSync questions is
microsoft.public.pocketpc.activesync. Outlook does not play an active role
in the sync process and there are no Outlook settings that control it.
