Outlook 2000 attachment problem

I use Outlook 2000. I keep a copy of every email I send. If the email has an attachment, Outlook saves a copy of it, too. I don't need this since the attachment exists elsewhere on my hard drive. How do I prevent Outlook from saving a copy of the attachments I send?

There is nothing built into Outlook to strip attachments automatically, but
plenty of third-party tools to help. See
