outlook 2000 accessing harddrive every few seconds

I'm running a win2k system, and sometimes when Outlook is running, I ca
hear my hard drive being accessed every few seconds. As soon as I clos
Outlook down, the accessing stops.

I've run a virus check with no results, so I'm wondering if it i
outlook doing some sort of scheduled housekeeping in the background, a
also, it doesn't happen every time I run outlook.

It is a fairly recent install, but I have used outlook for a few year
without this happening before on other machines. Also on some othe
PC's I have, it doesn't seem to do it at all.

Just wondering if anyone else has had any experience with this
