Both bite because they impose DRM. If you have a palm, use Tomeraider,
it reads *.prc files. You can google for makedocw.exe to convert any
copy and pastable text to a *.prc ebook. Good luck.

Not very, although its been around for awhile. But then again,
electronic readers of all sorts are common for reading books at all.

I've read just one ebook on a computer. I doubt I would have finished
it had I not had a 27" monitor, and a talk back reclining chair and
something to prop my feet up on in front of the monitor.

As yet, no technology can compete curling up with a paperback in bed,
and reading til the wee hours of the morning.

Thanks - what I was getting at, is that my wife was trying to get some
business with a Local Education Authority (she works in educational
publishing/software) and the head IT person in this authority told her
that *.lit was THE international standard for ebooks - and I'd NEVER heard
of it, so I just wondered how commonly it's used - the MS Ebook Reader
page doesn't seem to have been updated since 2002........

Hello, Never found any site that list how many people have and use MS E-Books.
I use two different readers.
MS E-Book are on many book sites that provide pay and some free versions of
on-line E- Books.
I enjoy the audio books, slow and sometimes mis-spoken words, but I can hear
a story while doing other work.
Between the two readers I have downoaded about 150 books.
I was able to download two extra voices 2 female and 2 male voices for the
MS reader.
take care

It's one standard. There's a consortium of software and content
publishers http://www.idpf.org/ who probably only agree to disagree on
this sort of thing.
