Option to Empty Temporary Internet Files When Browser is Closed

Hello,

In IE 6.0, under Tools | Internet Options | Advanced, there is an option
under Security:
"Empty Temporary internet files folder when browser is closed",
but when selected, THIS OPTION DOES NOT DO WHAT IT SAYS. The temporary
internet files remain in tact even after you close the browser.

Can someone please write back on how to have ALL temporary internet files
deleted when the browser (all instances of the browser) is closed ??

Thank you in advance for your help.

Mona,
When you select that option it modifies the following entry in the Registry:

; where the value of "0" empties the cache when the browser is closed

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\Cache]
"Persistent"=dword:00000000

If the above is correct, then most likely your cache folder(s) is corrupt.

Thanks Mike, I checked the Registry key and it was okay. Deleting temporary
internet files from (outside of IE) Control Panel | Internet Options |
General tab worked. Now when I use IE and then close IE, all my tif files
are gone, but the cookies remain!!!! Is there a way to make the tif folder
totally empty (delete the cookies as well) when the browser is closed ??

Mona,
The Cookie are *only* view in the TIF, however they are not
stored there. Depending on your OS depends on what folder they are stored
in.

If setup properly, you shouldn't need to empty the Cookies .......
