Operation aborted

I am unable to visit certain web sites that I have
visited before like Cnet, Wall Street Journal, Rocky
Mountain Newsetc. I get an error that says Internet
Explorer is unable to open the page, operation aborted.
It seems to be getting worse. Can anyone help?
