Operation Aborted

I am unable to access www.msn.com. Once there, a window pops up saying the
microsoft internet explorer is unable to display the page and operation is
aborted. Then IE shows, "The page could not be displayed". Plus, of late,
there is a warning notice on top (yellow box), in chinese characters, saying
to download FireFox.

Please advise how I can rectify this. Thank you.

Well this does not sound good. Did you click on any advertismnts or stranege
links links, because this sounds like adware where you get pop ups. Then
again it could be a virus or malware. Scan the computer for viruses using up
to date software and then google malware on the web for instructions about
that.For the future
I can reccomend some free programs: One is Adaware by Lavasoft. Download it
from www.lavasoft.com and then can periodically. The other free program is
Windows Defender from Microsoft. It protects your computer from pop ups.
Hopefully this will help to rectify the situation and prevent it in the
future. pPlease let me know how this turns out.
Best regards,
Kaja
