Opening Web Windows in 'Maximized' Format ?

Today I learned to modify 'Shortcuts' to open an executable file in the
Maximized format but the trick Mark gave me would not work on a web file such
as Gmail or HotMail. I opened Gmail, maximized the window, created a
shortcut, closed everything and reopened Gmail with the shortcut and the
window was not maximized. Can this attribute be controlled? I had all my
windows opening in the maximized format but for some reason I cannot control
the website windows, Help !!!

This is one way to force links to open maximized.

Create a few shortcuts to your browser on your Desktop, or Quick Launch
bar, then edit the shortcuts.

1. Change the "Target:" to:

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" http://lpga.com

(as an example site.)

2. After adding the internet address, change the "Run:" pane to "Maximized".

That will make those shortcuts open IE maximized. You'll still have to
use the other ideas suggested in this thread to get links in emails, and
links on web sites to open new windows nearly maximized.

If you use other than IE, adjust the instructions to that program.

Hope this helps,

Elmo, this worked great. I believe this should solve all the problems I had
with maximizing windows. I had just a little problem of modifying the target
address until I read your post more carefully.

Thanks very much for your help,
Carroll
