Open Windows Explorer with folders pane visible?

When I hit Winkey+E Windows Explorer opens but not in the format I would
prefur. I would like the folder pane visible so I don't have to press the
"folders" icon every time.

Is there some way to change the default?

Create a new shortcut and point its target here:
C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe

This will open explorer with the folder tree on the left at the my documents
folder.
