online gaming problems

Please HELP!

i have a linksys wireless network setup at my home. i am however not
the host pc and therefore share the internet. i like to play games on
over the internet such as planetside, battlefield 1942, call of duty
etc.... BUT every game i play on i have a connection problem/
interuption popup every couple of minutes from the game.

my sys specs:
blackice firewall
windows xp
norton antivirus

host specs:
windows xp (recently upgraded and now gameplay is worse)
norton antivirus / internet security

i dont know what to do, can anyone suggest anything or any
applications that will allow me to play easily.
the problem may have something to do with the firewall continueally
checking packets, is there any program built to go around it and such.
...or is it to do with the speed of the packets sent as the adapters
are only 11mbps.

Hi R3ckless,

You don't need to use 3rd party software firewalls
if you're using a router, as it has a built in port based
firewall. Call Linksys support and ask them to walk
you through the steps in order to open the ports for
those games. They have free 1-800 tech support.
