Old formula editor

Paul Thomas

Word used to offer a dot-command based formula editor that I used around
1990-1992 to write some papers with mathematical content. Is this old editor
still available in recent versions of Word? If not, how can I read the math
in these old Word files once I manage to retrieve them from old disks?

It might be a plan to see what the converters will allow before trying to
establish a workaround. DO NOT try and open the files from floppy disc with
Word. That is a sure method of ensuring corruption. Copy the files to the
hard drive before opening them. You can download the old DOS Word filter
from my web site - later filters should be included with Word.
