Better compatability between equation editor and math-type!

I share a lot of my math papers with other students, and since i once needed
the extra symbols and mathematical operators that Math-type gives me, i
downloaded the 30 day trial version. But there is one problem: Now, when i
want to send my work to a fellow student, he/she can't edit the objects
because the person doesn't uses math-type, but only the Equation Editor. It
is REALLY annoying! I am left with two choices: Either to write all that
stuff on my other computer, or uninstall Math-type from this computer, making
it impossible to edit my previous work!
This incompatibillity between systems makes me furious, and causes me to
think of switching to eg. LaTeX instead of Word, as my teacher advises me to!

I hope to see a solution soon!
