Please help! I scanned over a hundred photo's with my scanner.......I scanned them in on a flatbed scanner.....I scanned more than one photo at a time so there are maybe 5 photo's on each page....my problem is I thought I could just crop them out and add each photo to a page but none of my programs on Windows XP will allow this since I can only crop one picture on the page and then the rest of the page is gone .....what am I doing wrong and please don't tell me I have to scan each individual picture at the time.........I really need some help here.......

You really answered your own question, best to scan one picture.
You can crop, once you crop, save this cropped area as a new file. If you
are using XP Paint to crop, you simply use the Rectangle tool to select the
area and then click on File and Save As and give it a name. Once done, crop
another area again and save the new area as a new file, etc. Once done you
may be asked to save the change to your original file when you close it.
Just say NO.
The problem with cropping is that the quality of the new file of the cropped
area may not be good enough to make a decent size print (say 5 x 7) but it
may be OK to display on your screen.

Another alternative is to purchase a photo-imaging package that enables you
to scan more than one photo at a time. I use Photo Explosion Deluxe,
purchased at CostCo maybe a year ago. I scanned a full scanner bed of
photos at a time, then applied my choice of photo editing effects (crops,
alignment, etc.) to each photo individually. This programs saved me hours of
time scanning almost 300 photos for a special Christmas CD I was compiling
for family members. The Photo Explosion program automatically
organizes/stores each photo as a separate image, by the way, rather than as
one screen equalling one image containing multiple photos. Lynne

You copy the file first.
