Offset fonts in powerpoint 2007

I just upgraded from pp 2003 to pp 2007. When I try to use my older
presentations any text with Arial, Garamond, symbol, or times new roman as
the font displays as if the text is one line above its insertion point. Then
when I display a slide only the bottom third of the text is visible. Any
slides I try to create now have the same issue. All other fonts are
displaying normally.
Is there a reason for this? Is there anything I can do to fix it (other than
change the fonts on all of my presentations)? I've never seen anything quite
like this. If it matters my operating system is XP, not vista.

Hi Jim

I suspect you need to install a local printer driver. I know this sounds odd
but 2007 seems to rely heavily on the printer driver and installing a local,
windows certified one fixes many odd display issues.

If this fix works for you can you come back and let us know - we are trying
to collect information about system configuration when this fix works.

Hi Lucy,

Thanks, you were dead on. I installed the drivers for an HP 1600 series all
in one printer/scanner and the problem disappeared.

Thanks for letting us know :)
MS are collecting info on this issue so could you tell us about your
system - make, processor, previous printer driver, etc. It could really help
them permanently fix this annoying issue.
Thanks,

Lucy
