Power Point jagged fonts

When I view my presentation in the slideshow, the font (Garamond) is jagged,
not smooth on some of the slides. I tried turning off the cleartype, but it
made no difference. There is animation, but the slides where the fonts are
smooth also have animation. I cannot seem to find what the problem is. This
PP is due this week so if you can help, I would sure appreciate it.

Thanks. Unfortunately, none of the links on that page work. Hard to believe
this is the best answer... a website with someone arguing that- first, its
not really happening, and second- if it is, then its my fault for using the
wrong font color, animation, etc. If these features dont work, why put them
in the software. If there's some magical combination of font color,
animation, etc. that works, then why not just include that specific
combination. The software leads me to believe that I can design the
presentation myself. Last, the website argues that I'm being too picky and
that my audience will never notice the crappy looking fonts on a large
screen. Well I guess the author of this absurd site hasnt taken into
consideration that some PP presentations are meant for individual viewing on
ones own computer, not a projected screen. Such as mine, meant for the
professor and other students in my on-line Contemporary Literature class.

Sue,
Don't shoot the messenger, we are only here to help. As other users we can
only use the software as is. Personally I rarely had the problem at all.
Kathy Jacobs the author of the article is merely trying to get to the bottom
of the problem. She could also have chosen to ignore it completely. Rest
assured that if a definite solution is found she will be the first to
communicate it to us all.
I for one do appreciate her efforts to come to a solution.

Sorry, didnt mean to offend. I do appreciate that there is someone there at
least trying to help. Just extremely frustrated, trying to make a great PP
to impress the professor! And then the tone of that article seem to imply
that what I was seeing wasnt really there, and if it was, it was not so
important. Oh well. Thanks for replying in any case. I guess I'll just
start from scractch- again - and see if I can find a combination of
font/color/animation that actually works.

I don't know how much luck you'll have finding that combination, Sue.
Animation especially seems to make for some raggedy-looking text.

You can change the textboxes to images, and that will get rid of the
problem. How viable a workaround that is depends on your presentation.
Basically, copy the textbox, then Edit | Paste Special and choose PNG.

You'll have to re-animate the images, and if you had, for example, bulleted
text coming in line-by-line, you'll need to make copies of that textbox
image (one for each line of text) and crop as appropriate for each line of
text. Then animate.
