Offline Folders

Hi All

We have a problem we just cant seem to get around. Here
are some details on the config:

Workstation
Windows XP SP1
Office XP SP2
Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition v7.6
About 1.3Gb offline files

Server
Windows 2000 Server SP4
Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition v7.6

Network
10/100 switched

We have a user on the network where the offline folders on
the laptop keep going offline even though the user still
connected to the network. This occurs mostly while working
in office applications. Tried disabling AV software on
workstation, increasing the size of offline cache,
disabling then re-enabling offline folders, deleting and
recreating offline cache, changing PCMCIA cards, changing
ports on the switch, replacing network flylead,
reinstalling the laptop, still the same problem.

We're getting a little desperate, any ideas?

Thanks
Shawn

Are you using a DHCP for IP addressing?
Check the lease holding time.

Check the power management on the Laptop.
Check the NIC or PCMCIA in Device Manger and make sure no Power Management
options are checked.

Hi

Yes we are using DHCP. DHCP lease duration was set to 8
hours. The reason we have it configured this way is that
we have many PC and laptop that get plugged in and out of
the network during the day. The problem occurs while the
user is working on the laptop so I dont see how power
management or DHCP lease duration could have an effect.
Will check these points anyway

Thanks
