Offline folders issues

Hi,

I have an issue with offline folders on a laptop computer.

This is my boss laptop. He needs to have offline folders, and so, I set it
up for him.

But the problem is that when the laptop, while connected to the network,
goes standby, the network adapter loses connection and offline folders
becomes active.

We don't want this to happen this way. We'd like offline folders don't
activate when going stanby.

Does anybody find a similar situation and how it was solved?

Thanks everybody,

Alex.

This is a common issue with some notebooks. In some cases a
BIOS firmware update might resolve it. One thing you want to
do is make sure the NIC is using the latest drivers. Also on the
Properties of the NIC you'll see a Tab, Power Management. A
option " All the computer to turn off this device to save power".
One stop gap measure would be to enable this check box. This
prevents the NIC hardware from entering a low power mode.
The proper solution would be check the vendor's website and
apply any updates related to issues coming out of standby mode.

Hi Alex,

For the few users on networks that still use OF (only the ones with
limited files), I set them to sync on logon and logoff only. Then
Standby doesn't trigger it.
