offline files sync speed

Anyone here have any tips on speeding up the sync process for offline files.
I have a couple users that are having issues with the sync speed while
logging off. It sometimes takes up to ten minutes for the logoff sync to
complete. Login is very fast. These are local users so network speed is not
the issue.

Where should I be looking?

My question is, do you really *need* offline files on your LAN-connected
computers at all? I don't use it - I don't even like it for laptops - and
you can certainly disable this so that your users are always working from
files on the server.

We only use it for about a dozen laptop users. Is there a way to make them
use server copies while connected to the network and still be able to have
the cached copies for working at home or on the road. These laptops are
docked all day long but I have a few users who, believe it or not, do some
work from home. There has to be a solution.

Thanks in advance

If you have offline files, I don't think so.....

I personally prefer SecondCopy from www.centered.com.

I'm sorry I can't offer more specific advice about offline files, but I have
had such dreadful experiences with it (performance, and worse, data loss)
that I avoid it like the plague - SecondCopy works beautifully.
