I have office 2000 on my Windows XP Home and have been given a copied disc of
office 2003. Can I safely install this, or will it, as someone has said,
switch off after 30 days??

It is a pirated copy of Office 2003. You would be in violation of the
copyright laws if you installed it in your computer and used the license key
supplied by the original owner, and if you successfully activated on your
machine his may not update the next time he tries to update it.

Your 2000 key will NOT activate the 2003 license.

Have fun installing it and watching it stop running after 30 days. Of
course, if you use Outlook you also may not be able to easily revert back to
the Outlook 2000 or use most of the files created in Office 2003 after it
stops working since while the basic file structure of the newer and older
product is the same, there are features in the new product that you may not
be able to load in the old product.

Do yourself and everyone else a favor. Either purchase a legal copy of 2003
or stick with your functioning copy of 2000.
