Sorry for the off topic...

So many times, in the past, when I got stuck, newsgroups have helped me out.

I have been doing more traveling as a Consultant. I recently, am using Verizon Wireless which lets
me connect to a very fast Broadband / National service for the Internet, so I don't have to plug
into clients.

For years, I hated dial-up and having to setup a physical ethernet cable to clients. So I decided to
spend the bucks and pay for true fast wireless.

So my problem, is I am a big fan of newsgroups. At home, I have Optima online and use their newgroup
server. Verizone Wireless, my wireless provider does not provide a newsgroup server.

I searched on the web and tried to find a free newsgroup server. However, it seems that the free
ones, no longer allow posting of messages. I know this is not true, however, the ones I tried to
receive and send messages on, I could not connect to.

Can someone recommend a free newsgroup server that carries many, newsgroups and allows you to post
messages. The ones I tried that actually I was able to connect to, would not allow me to post.

Thank you for your help.

Again, sorry for the off-topic. Your experience will be very helpful.

VPN into your home and use your own desktop to read/post to Usenet from
the same one you use at home.

Hello Lawrence

These are three I have used and which allow you to post; perhaps one of
these might help.

http://www.readfreenews.net/

http://www.gazeta.pl (in Polish, how-to-sign-up walkthrough in English
at http://www.terra-fied.org.uk/gazeta.txt)

http://www.usenetrocket.com/ Not free, but they do a pay-as-you-go plan
with an initial 6GB for $7.50. The allowance never expires and you can
add to it at any time. If you use it only when travelling and only for
text, it will last you literally for years. NB: Posting is initially
disabled, you enable it by going to the Members Area of the website once
you receive your confirmation email.

I will try them.

Much appreciated.
