Off-line Antivirus for Vista

Hi,

Is there an antivirus software somewhere that would work off-line on
Windows Vista and that I could update manually? On my previous XP
machine, I used to use McAffee VirusScan 7 and get virus definition
updates on their FTP site... But I doubt it'd work on Vista.

ClamWin is pretty good, but it does not offer any real-time
protection.

Any idea?

Thanks!

Thanks, but that's an on-line virus scanner, exactly the opposite from
what I'm looking for.

What is it? Is it that you need to go to some FTP site, and you control when
the update happens? Or could it be that you just need to configure the AV to
not do automatic updates, and you control when the update happens due to you
using the Update button for the Update manually?

What I mean is that I want to protect a computer that has no Internet
access, so that I manually update the definitions by downloading them
myself. That's how it used to work VirusScan 7 on XP (I got the
updates from ftp://ftp.mcafee.com/pub/datfiles/), but I doubt that
version will be compatible with Vista.

No, you need 8.5 for Vista.
