numeric keypad issue- HELP! IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE???

This thing is driving me nuts! This is a repost from a few weeks back. I've
gotten zero response.

Can anyone offer anything on this? Is there too much or too little info in
this post?

The numlock key IS on. I've been through all basic msconfig troubleshooting
techniques to no avail.

This is a new one on me. I have a WinXPH box (generic mfg with Intel P4
800mhz, 512KRAM) that is displaying a rather odd behavior. There are two
logins (user accounts) on the box.

When logged in under the first account (my admin account) the numeric keypad
does
not work. When a key is pressed there is no indication that the OS saw the
keypress.

When logged in under the second account all is well.

Is there some obscure registry setting that could be causing this?

I hate to hear that it takes so long to get a response but maybe this will help determine what is going on. If you make a new admin user in user accounts does that one have the num lock/keypad problem as well? If not then I think the user account may be corrupted and need some deletion but never fear you can still save any files from the corrupt account when you delete it, you would just have to change the look when you log onto that new account. Hope this helps..

thanks, I had just about decided that was the only way to go. I had already
created another admin account and the problem went away. The only
reservation I have about deleting the old account is that some appliactions
were installed to only work for that account.

One I can think of off te top of my head is Outlook Express. How can I let
the app know that the new login ID is really the same person?

Follow?
