Not all DVDs can be played on my pc. Any help?

My pc has Window XP and PowerDVD 6.

I can play some DVDs and I can't play other DVDs. Can't
figure out what was the common error. I compared those
DVDs that I rented from the shop. Both of them have the
same region. For those DVDs that I can't play, I got an
error message that say "something wrong with my TV
outport in my display card. If TV outport is enabled, you
can't play this DVD". This message appears a few moments
right after when I play or a little longer than that. I
checked in hardware manager and every hardware listed is
working. But if somethng wrong with my display card, how
come I can play other DVDs? Any help would be
appreciated.

The manufacturer of the DVD can set a flag to prevent the program material
from being output through the TV output on the PC.
