Unable to play newer DVDs - Macrovision?

I have a Shuttle PC with a Radeon 9600 AIW card. I have it hooked up
to my Plasma TV using the ATI HDTV adaptor. I am using PowerDVD 5.0
but it does not seem to matter what software i use. I can play older
DVDs just fine but when I try to play newer ones (like Finding Nemo) I
get this error:

Error Code: F4D41436

TheTV Out port of your display card is not working properly. This copy
protected disc can not be played when the TV out function is enabled.

Any ideas what I can do? I thought i read somewhere that the newer
DVDs protect against copying via computers hooked up to TVs. I hope
this is a joke because otherwise there goes my investment in my HTPC.

It's no joke, but there is a way around it. Check the forums at

There are probably a number of ways around this nowadays and someone will,
I'm sure, offer a better one than this but for a quick fix older drivers for
the graphics card (pre-Macrovision) usually work

Use PRE 43.x drivers and you shouldn't have that problematic protection in your way!

I thought macrovision only interfered when you hook the TVout to a video -
thats what I've found. Hooking up the PC to TV is fine for playing films and
thats included
Finding Nemo (for me).

That is my understanding to and is why I can't figure out why this is
happening. I am not sure if it is ATI's fault or not. Doesn't
Macrovision have to check the video drivers to make this
determination? Than I would think there must be something wrong with
the drivers. I am not sure what to do.
