Norton--yet again; especially Protected Recycle Bin

I want to get rid of Norton on my system. I have downloaded Acronis 10
and AVG, as they both seem to be in favor in this ng. The only thing I
will miss is the Norton Protected Recycle Bin, which has been of help to
me several times. Can anyone recommend a good replacement for it?

Allen;
Personally I NEVER place anything in the Recycle Bin unless I am certain it
will never be needed.
If you can't be certain, instead create another file and label it whatever
you want.
Send deleted stuff there.
After whatever time you deem appropriate, send it to the Recycle Bin.

Executive Software's Undelete.

Hopefully you have a firewall and several programs to deal with non viral
malware too.

Thanks for your reply. At the present time I'm copying 200-300 VHS tapes
to DVD, and this process generates huge files, and I've been known to
make a mistake now and then, and will probably continue to do so. I
would really like to find a replacement for Norton PRC, but if not, I
suppose that I can use only the Norton Utilities. I gave up on Norton
Backup several months ago and removed it; Ghost, in its current form, is
a giant step backward from previous releases; Norton AV has been causing
more problems than it has prevented, especially for my wife who isn't
very computer literate. As I said, I have acquired Acronis 10 to replace
Ghost and AVG to replace NAV. Furthermore, since switching to Roadrunner
as my provider a few years ago, NAV has found exactly one virus that
Roadrunner let slip through.

Thanks for your reply. I will give Executive Software Undelete a try.
And yes, I believe that I'm adequately protected. Sorry for the delay in
my response--spent the last day and a half with a stomach virus and
didn't get near my computer.
