Norton WMI will not install

I have SP2. When I use Norton LiveUpdate, it downloads and installs my virus
definitions. It downloads Norton WMI update but I get the eror messages 1812
and 1806 stating that it cannot be installed. The update is in three parts
and a total of about 1.1MB. I did a search for WMI and in the list of WMI
folders and files are four having to do with Norton but no options to do
anything with them. What is stranger, there are 22 files with BLUE print, 2
with exe extensions and most of the other with dll extensions. These are all
dated to indicate they are from my SP2 download.
Any help appreciated.

Carey-
Thanks. I am familiar with the error message as I get these each time after
download. I have read every word in countless Symantec documents and
uninstalled and reinstalled LiveUpdate several times. I have not done a 100%
uninstall and new install of the Norton AV 2004. It seems strange that each
time I update I get successful updates of my virus definitions and The WMI
update does download. It just does not install. I'm probably wrong but it
seems that since it does downlod but does not install, it would be a SP2, WMI
problem. I never had this problem before SP2. ALL other aspects of AV2004
work just fine. I get no real help from Symantec...only repeated
generalities. Could this be a SP2 WMI problem. If not, do you recommend a
total reinstall or should I just wait "til my subscription runs out
(December)and get Norton AV 2005? By the way, when I respond to the link
within "(e-mail address removed)" to read the reply. all I get is "the page you
requested cannot be displayed". I got back here in a rather roundabout
fashion.
Thanks for any further help.
