Windows Update and Norton Internet Security 2005 causes repeating rebooting

W

Winston

I downloaded the 13 windows updates that were recently released and all
of a sudden I am continually getting the fatal blue screen. My computer
is a Toshiba notebook M35X-S1492. I am running XP Home SP2.

I have uninstalled Norton Internet Security 2005 along with Live Update
and Norton WMI Update and the problem continues.

Are there any known issues with the latest updates that might involve
my Toshiba Satellite laptop and Norton Internet Security 2005? I have
visited the Toshiba website and can't seem to find any related issues
at the site.

I also am experiencing the same issue on another computer that has NIS
on it also. But I am not experiencing the problem on my main desktop
computer. All three of the computers are connected to my home network.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Winston

It took me 3 days of reinstalling Norton and Win XP to figure out that
one of the 13 latest updates causes Norton to go haywire and produce
all sorts of error messages and corruption both within Norton and
Windows. I'll have to wait until someone comes up wit a solution until
I can download the latest updates.

I have NIS 2005 and I had no problems updating the Windows patches.

I have successfully installed NIS 2005 on numerous machines and also
ran all the windows updates with no problems at all. But I have a few
machines, one a Gateway and one a Dell, in which I am finding it
impossible to install NIS 2005 and all the recent updates, including
SP2, without major problems. Go figures.

Have you looked at www.symantec.com/support.

And have you tried this newsgroup
