Norton Antivirus Worm Protection blocks Skype

Hi! I'm new to this forum. I have been using Antivirus 2005 and Skype
(freeware, internet telephony) for about two weeks on my new machine, and had
no problems with it, until I installed the new version of Skype two days ago.
I cannot run Skype without getting warnings from Worm Protection constantly,
even though I have added skype.exe to my exception list in Antivirus.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Possibly the application list is MD5 hashed to prevent malware from trying
to run with that executable name which a lot of software firewalls do. I am
not familiar with your version of Norton but there should be an option to
update the executable to allow for a new version somewhere in the settings
or try deleting your currently allowed filename and the next time the
warning appears tell it to allow it to see if that works. --- Steve
