Norton Antivirus 2004 not updating - help needed!

I have Norton Anti-Virus 2004 which I have set to automatically update but
it doesn't update itself. I can run it by clicking liveupdate, but it won't
do it itself automatically.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any idea's how to fix it?

I hope someone can help.

If I recall correctly, I think that the LiveUpdate has an entry in the
Job Scheduler on the NT based O/S such as Win 2K and XP. That's if you're
running one of the O/S(s).

You may want to go to the Job Scheduler to see if LiveUpdate is still
there and is not having any issues running. I think you can right-click
it and have Job Scheduler run it to see if LU will run via the Job
Scheduler.

Hi,

I have the same problem. I have no problem updating the definition file on
my XP Windows until recently, some one - two weeks ago. I am not sure if it
has anything to do with my patching up tme XP from Microsoft updates.

I was hit by a blaster virus and had to go to MS updating site to do the
3-steps to secure my PC. Afterwhich, I think, my NAV refuses to update. Each
time giving the following readouts...

"connecting to liveupdate.symantec
Downloading catalog file. not available
unable to connect to host
Liveupdate could not retreive the catalog file of available Symantec
product...."

Anyone knows what's going on?
