Non-smooth screen

Hi there,

Fresh installation of XP Prof SP2

I have just helped my brother formatting and installing XP Prof together
with SP2 & latest updates.

We have noticed that the movement of the screen when using the scroll bar,
is not smooth; I hope u understand what I mean.
This is the first time we have seen this and are wondering how we can fix
it.

Please advice.

Defrag your system at least two times although once may
help, SP2 tips require this.

You may also want to change some of your grahics settings
to the desktop, I find that removing some of those screen
features you can manuever open windows with a smoother
motion rather than them being jagged.

Get the latest drivers for your video card. Get the drivers from the
card mftr.'s website or from the computer mftr.'s website for your
specific machine if you have an OEM machine (HP, Sony, Compaq, etc.).

Install motherboard drivers for your specific M/B. Install the current video
board drivers for your video.

Then definitely go to Compaq's website and download drivers for your
specific laptop model.
