Non-default driver returns

Hi. I'm using Windows XP SP2. I have two printers in two parts of my house,
a Brother and an HP. The Brother is a multi-function printer/scnner/copier.
The HP is just a laser. I use the HP as my default everyday printer, and yet
even though I go into the start menu, select printers, and designate the HP
as the default printer, after I reboot my machine, the Brother is again
designated as the default printer. I ran msconfig and disabled the programs
that could find that would run the Brother at startup, but the problem
persists. Any ideas as to what to do would be most appreciated.
Thank you,
Bob

It's probably built into the drivers for the Brother printer and there's
nothing you can do if that is the case.

Thanks Cari,
It hadn't occurred to me there could be such a thing. I hope you are
mistaken, but I'll accept that as the answer to my question and though it
isn't what I hoped to hear, I'm grateful for your reply. If you hear of
something I could do to override this, please let me know. Maybe the people
at Brother will know. I haven't contacted them.
Thanks again,
Bob

I have no idea about Brother printers, but it's certainly well known with
certain Epson models. They demand to be default and there's no way to
override it.
