Hello! Since I've simultaneously installed updates 832894 and 828028, my
Windows XP SP 1 Home Ed. machine does no longer wake up from standby. I
get always a black screen, keyboard and mouse are frozen, and the only
way to get out is to reboot. Is this behaviour a known issue and how can
it be fixed? Thank you for your kind response.

Hi,

Does uninstalling those updates return things to normal? How about
reinstalling only one of them? Can you tell if it is one or the other that
is causing the problem? If so, which?

I have same exact thing. I wonder if it is hardware related. I get
errors sometimes in relation to my nvidia geforce440 go card. Do you
have same card or similar?

Hi! I'm still testing. It can last a moment since I've to wait hours to
watch the pb to occur.

Hi John! I've a NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 200 [Display adapter] and
Dell E151FP [Monitor] (15.2"vis, January 2002), all drivers up to date.

Hi Rick! At this time, I've:
- uninstalled update 828028: no change;
- uninstalled update 832894: no change;
- installed again 828028: result OK, same good behaviour as before the
updates;
- installed again 832894: still testing.
Since I've recently connected a parallel printer through a parallel/USB
adapter cable, I've also tested the printer unpluged: no difference.
Hope this can help you for a diagnostic.

Hi Rick! Now it's done:
- uninstalled update 828028: no change;
- uninstalled update 832894: no change;
- installed again 828028: result OK, same good behaviour as before the
updates;
- installed again 832894: the worse is back (disk, spinning but black
screen, no keyboard response after the first hit). :-(

Hi Francois,

Ok, thanks for that information. I will pass it on. In the meantime, for
your sanity, I would suggest you leave that update uninstalled.
