No Voice On MSN 6.0 or win Mess 4.7

I can hear people talking to me when having a voice
conversation, but they can't hear me. I am running
windows xp home edition on a new gateway. To start with
I could have voice conversations no problem. Then one
day it stopped, now I can only hear people.
I don't recall if I downloaded any updates the day it
stopped. My mic and speakers are fine. My firewall is
UPnP compatible. I have tried everything suggested to
fix the problem, but no luck. I tried to sign in with my
laptop and had no problem with voice conversation. I
can't help but think it has to do with the configuration
of my desktop.
The problem is the same with both MSN Messenger 6.0 and
windows Messenger 4.7.
Why would it work one day and not the next?
How do I fix this frustrating problem?

HELP!!!!.....

Make sure UPnP is enabled on your router/gateway?

If that dosn't work, try disabling QoS Packet
Scheduler....

Click Start, then click the Control Panel. If you're in
category view click Network and Internet connections then
click Network Connections. Right click your
network/internet connection, then click Properties.
Uncheck the QoS Packet Scheduler, then reboot and try
again.

BTW - Does it work if you bypass the router/gateway?
