No Start Menu, No Task Bar, No Right Click options, No Icons

Hey all,
I have none of the items I mentioned in Subject line.

I have tried Kelly's regedits with no effect

I have Windows XP SP2
I recently downloaded IE 7.0 (that was the last time everyting was okay)

I should also mention that last week I upgraded my QuickBooks Pro and it
created a User accout, so now when I log on I must click on "Scott" to
finish loading. Before QuickBooks upgrade it just went staright to windows
screen.

I also did this on my notebook and must log in the same way now. I did not
upgrade to IE 7.0 on the notebook and do have all my Start menu, taskbar,
etc. "No Problems"

How do I uninstall IE 7.0 from "Windows Task Manager" Shoud I remove IE
7.0
How do I access "Control Panel" from "Windows Task Manager"

Please Help,
Scott

Did you try F8 during boot to get to safe mode? If it works then use
SystemRestore to recover from older date.

If FrankV's advice to run System Restore in Safe Mode doesn't
solve your problem, here are some things you can run through
Task Manager.

In Task Manager, go to File -> New Task (Run) and enter
explorer.exe.
Click OK and see if this brings back your Taskbar and Desktop
icons.

If that doesn't work, go back to Task Manager and try these
programs.

To open Control Panel, enter control.exe

To open Add or Remove Programs, enter control appwiz.cpl.

To run System Restore, enter
%systemroot%\System32\restore\rstrui.exe.

As for your logon issue, odds are that when you upgraded
QuickBooks Pro it required the installation of Microsoft's .NET
Framework 1.1. Here's an article with more info:

The Welcome to Windows screen appears when you start Windows XP
after you install the .NET Framework 1.1
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=827072

Installing this update may resolve the issue.

Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1

If that doesn't work, try the following,

Go to Start -> Run.
Copy and paste the following into the Open box:

control userpasswords2

Click OK.
In the "Users for this computer" box, click on the account you
want to have logged on automatically.
Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer".
Click OK.
In the box that pops up, make sure the account you clicked on
earlier is entered next to User Name.
Enter your password twice.
Note: You can leave the password box blank if the account does
not have a password.
Click OK.
Reboot to see if you get the desired results.

If you prefer, you can download TweakUI from Microsoft and
configure it accordingly. Take a look here for more info on
that procedure:
