No sound with PPT 2003 Photo Album

I installed my PPT 2003 which worked perfectly in the past on to my new
computer with xp pro. Problem is cannot hear the wav sound file inserted
into a new photo album. Can't for that matter hear wav sound on older photo
albums created. Can, however, hear the available default sound effects,
e.g., applause, camera sound, etc. Any assistance GREATLY appreciated!

Are the wav sounds linked or embedded? In either case make sure that you have
service pack 2 installed (check in help > about powerpoint)

If linked try moving them into the same folder as the presentation (if thats
not where they are are already) and re insert them into powerpoint.

Thanks for your reply.

The .wav music is, as on the previous computer, on a separate drive. Tried
moving a file to the same pps folder but no luck. Also, cannot hear music
on (weekly) emails containing pps which I was able to do with my other
computer using the same ppt program. SP2 installed on both the old and new
computers. Help please!!

I tried your suggestion but, alas, still no go. Also, I've gotten weekly
emails with pps shows for the last 18 months - up until now, no problem in
hearing the sound in those presentations.

Any other suggestions, please??
