No Sound in Windows

Howdy.

For some reason I can't get any sound in windows. I was playing around with
connecting my bass guitar to my computer, and I changed some stuff in Sound &
Audio devices. I also installed Adobe Audition. Everything seemed to work
fine.

Later on in the day when I booted up the computer there was no sound.

I Checked the Sound & Audio device settings, they appear to be fine.
The volume & such seems normal, nothing is muted.
I checked the driver for the sound card, it is working fine.
I reinstalled the driver for the sound card twice, still no sound.
I pulled off the side of the computer, and made sure all the case connectors
were in correctly, as I've had that problem before. They were all in.
I booted up in linux, and the sound in linux worked, I could play music &
such.

Therefore it is not a hardware issue, because I get sound in linux. The
driver appears ok, and the sound settings seem ok.

Any ideas?
Cheers

The first place I would look is admin tools>services and make sure that
"windows audio" is set to automatic and that it is started, failing that...

Where did my sounds go?

If no help do a system restore to a point prior to the changes you made.
Good Luck!

Cheers, didn't know about making windows audio automatic.
However, it seems to have magically fixed itself anyway.
Thanks for your help though.
