NO PRINTER OF ANY BRAND WILL INSTALL ON TOSHIBA NOTEBOOK W/ XP

I have a Toshiba Satellite Notebook running Win XP w/ SP2 applied. The
machine will not - under any circumstances - recognize either a network
printer (using Add Printer Wizard, Add Hardward Wizard, native printer setup
disc or any other strategy I can think of) or a printer connected via USB
(using Add printer wizard, etc.). The wizards (and the printer setup CD's)
get to near the end of their install routines, then I am promptly informed
via error message "Printer Driver Not Installed. Operation could not be
completed." I have looked to the MS support page and found several articles
saying reinstall the latest printer driver.....DUH!!!!! I have done that
over and over again with the same result.

I NEED SERIOUS HELP!!!!!! Can anyone provide sound steps to correct this?

Protocol dictates that using caps is "SHOUTING"!

Regarding "...found several articles saying reinstall the latest printer
driver.....DUH!!!!! I have done that
over and over again...." - using uninstall via Control Panel (or uninstall
provided with install CD) may not remove all "traces" of previously
installed drivers.

For example - HP provides an uninstall utility via support at www.hp.com for
removing traces of HP drivers on win 2000 and XP.
