No icons appear on my desktop!

Please help. Suddenly when I start my computer no icons
appear on the desktop and I get this error message:

Explorer.exe unable to locate component.

This application has failed to start because UxTheme.dll
was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this
problem.

Can any one help?

Hi Steve,

Did you install XP Themes from a third-party source?
They may destabilize your system.

Go to start > Run > and type 'sfc /scannow' (without quotation marks
and with a space between the c and the forward slash)

The routine will ask for the Windows XP CD.

Right click desktop---arrange icons---show desktop icons.
