*This problem is sort of easy, but can be tricky to solve. What yo
need to do here is replace the UxTheme.dll file with a new one, o
one from a different xp machine. (To do this, you would type i
"uxtheme.dll" in the search menu of a Windows XP machine, preferabl
a working one, and copy that .dll file to the c:\windows\system3
folder. To have a backup of your old uxtheme.dll, rename it t
uxtheme.old
The way I found was easiest, is to wait until after you get the erro
message, click ok.. and then push CTRL+ALT+DEL. Click on Tas
Manager, and then at the top of windows task manager you will se
File, Options, View, and Help. Click on File, New Task (run). Thi
will bring you to an Open dialog box just as if you would be clickin
on start and run. Click the browse button then you will have acces
to all of your C: from here you can copy a good uxtheme.dll (which
have attatched if needed) to the c:\windows\system32 directory. Le
