No AUDIO IN MSN Messenger 6

Joe

Everything worked fine until I upgraded to Messenger 6.
Other 3rd party chat programs work. Got perfect video but
no AUDIO.

Thanks for the posts Jonathan, but I have no firewall, I
don't use a router, I have all the current drivers, I
tried turning off QoS Packet deal.....Couldn't connect to
Audio or Video with that number!! My ISP didn't do
anything.....find it hard to believe that so many ISPs
around the nation/world would block same ports...etc.

This is obviously a problem with an XP update, or faulty
programming....or lack of testing prior to release. Seems
MS keeps fouling up something somewhere every week. No
different than when they stopped Win Media Player support
for playing .mpg clips directly from the net.

I've read pages of this community & no one has the answer
& it's a huge problem. Anyone else have any ideas. All my
stuff checks out. I can record wav clips etc with my
headset. Hell, Messenger Audio bar raises & lowers as I
talk which means it's picking up my voice but does
nothing with it. The program receives the signal but
refuses to send to the NET. I hear everyone else
perfectly but no one hears me. No more copy & paste
answers, we need other suggestions.

I have the same problem. My PC has onboard sound (SOUND
MAX AUDIO). Audio is working correctly on all software
except MSN 6. Soundmax vendor informed me it was a MSN
Messenger problem.
And I would have to wait for ms to fix the problem, they
could not get any assistance from MS at this time.
