New Workgroup showed up?

Tyler

Upon browsing through my network I came across a new
workgroup that had been added since the day before. I
can't browse into the workgroup. My LAN domain is still
there as it was yesterday and our testing workgroup is
still listed.

Is there any way to track how this workgroup got added?

Would it be logged in the event logs on my lan DCs?

If an outside person brought a PC into my network with
that as their workgroup and plugged in the network
would/could the workgroup then show up? We are not using
DHCP as well.

Thanks.

Not that I know of - it isn't connected to the domain.

Yes - that's the usual cause.

We are not using
DHCP as well.

Then someone probably used a valid static address.
