New Internet Explore windows not maximized

I have recently been having problems with Internet
Explorer. The program loads fine and the browser opens
fully. However when I do a search or right click to open
a new broweser window, the new window opens in the middle
of my screen and is very small. I can maximize it and I
have even tried dragging the window to the full size and
closing the browser and when I try again, the new browser
window returns to the smaller size. I have run adaware
and it removed some cookies, but I still have the
problem. I am running Win XP with IE 6.0. Any
suggestions?
