Networked Printer Setup

Anna

I setup an HP Jetdirect print share device with an IP address of
192.168.1.200 using the software that came with it. When I did the install
from the first computer, it automatically created a printer icon and
installed the driver and it works fine.

I would like to now setup the other computers on my network so that they can
print to this printer, but I'm not sure how to setup IP printing on an XP
Pro machines.

I can ping the address of the printer without any problem. I would like to
avoid using the the HP software that came with the print share device.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Anna

Either use the HP JetAdmin software or setup the printer using a "Standard TCP/IP Port".

Add a new local printer --> Create a new port --> Standard TCP/IP Port
Enter the IP address for the fiield: "Printer name or IP address:"
Example; 192.168.1.200

Enter a name for the fiield: "port name:"
Example; HPlaser
