Network upload problem after spyware removal

S

Stefan

Hi all,
I'm running WinXP SP2 and removed some (not critical)
adware with Antispyware last week. Since then I've got
massive problems uploading data via my DSL internet connection.
Small HTML form posts seem to work in IE and Firefox,
larger ones are rejected in both browsers with the alert:
"the document contains no data".
Similar problems in Outlook. No problem to receive mail and
send small text mails to some mail addresses. But unable to
send mails with attachments.
Have this problem now for 3 days.
Couldn't even post anything in this newsgroup from my home
PC because of the problem...
Any idea?
Thanks, Stefan

That's a wierd one.

Here are things I can think of to try:

1) reset the Winsock LSP chain:

2) Reset TCP/IP
XP: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;299357

2K: http://www.petri.co.il/reinstall_tcp_ip_on_windows_2000.htm

3) Reinstall IE (I think this is more likely to be your fix--I don't have a
quick set of references for this, but there are KB articles for the various
versions of IE.)

You might ask in a public Internet Explorer related group--somebody who
knows that product better than I do might recognize the symptoms.

I googled on "the document contains no data" but didn't read the links
found--that may be a useful route towards resolving this.
