network properties gives an error

I was having trouble with my verizon web site, so I used their
diagnostic tool to see what the problem was and now though the web
browser does work better now though I am not sure if the problem was on
my end or theirs, I get a error every time I try to access my network
cards properties. The Internet connect still works, but I just can't
access the properties. Is there a way to fix this without reinstalling
windows and yes I tried the repair function, but that did not work
either. I even removed it in device manager and reinstalled the driver
from the CD and I get the same error. I suppose I can try another card
though it is working so I am doubtful that will work.

The error is "An Unexpected Error Occurred.".

I did notice one thing in the Network Connections, my Local Area
Connection as a lock symbol near it, but I am unable to get rid of it.
