Network Issues keep on going Semaphore Timeout ?

Recent issues with a laptop are still ongoing.

The laptop can see and has access to each of the other computers as it
should. The other computers can see the laptop, but, can not access the
directories properly.

The last error I got was that the "network path was not found".

I recently had to delete the TCP/IP protocol and reinstall it. after doing
this everything was up.

Sorry for the long preamble - How do we set the variables / parameters for
the networking?

Even a hint would be good. Thanks

Is Windows Firewall running ? if it is running you can try to select File
and Printer Sharing at Firewall Exceptions.
