network folders and printer shares lost

I have a home network with 13 PC's. Many different printers and folders are
shared and working but one specific XP workstation has lost it's shares. I
can connect to shares from this PC by using the UNC path to connect to other
computers, but I cannot browse to them. This PC has 2 shared folders which
were working perfectly as well as a printer shared and working up until a few
days ago, but now no other PC's on the network can connect to or see these
shares, even the printer. I have tried releasing and renewing the IP address
from DHCP, renaming the PC, joining a new network then re-joining the actual
network that is established. Help!!

If you haven't already, you might check that the isolated PC is still part of
the same workgroup or domain as the others.

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago; I changed something without
thinking, one of my PCs disconnected from the workgroup and entered its own
domain. It could access all the other shared folders and printers on the
network, but nothing could access its shared folders and printer. Once I put
it back in the same workgroup as the others, the shares came back.

Good luck.

I wish it were that simple, but I have already re-ran the network wizard and
re-placed the PC into the correct workgroup. It is in fact visible within
the work group from other PC's, but I get a permissions error when I try to
connect to the PC. t I still need help.
