Hi -

NetMeeting is part of Windows 2000; it was not designed to be removed and
reinstalled. Unfortunately, it is possible to install an older version of
NetMeeting on Windows 2000 - which will then leave uninstall information
laying around, and a way to access this information from Add / Remove
Programs. If you then use Add / Remove Programs to remove NetMeeting, it
will remove the files and the Registry entries. The files should be
replaced by System File Protection, but the Registry entries will not be.

This article talks about how to recover from this kind of situation:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;267958

If you are actually seeing an error message, I do not think that this is
your problem, but the steps in the article can be used to verify that
NetMeeting is installed.

Having said that, there can be any number of reasons that NetMeeting will
not start. Corrupt fonts and other remote control software or applications
installed that is using needed ports are a couple of possibilites.

If you boot the machine into "Safe Mode with Networking", will NetMeeting
start? If it does, then there is probably some other application / service
that is interfereing.

Also, providing the error message EXACTLY as it appears on the screen is
going to be far more useful than providing a paraphrased version of it.
