Netmeeting problems.

Hi.
I'm running Windows XP Pro on 2 computers, both connected
to the internet via a cable modem, and a linksys router.

Both computers are Dell, one a Dimension 4600 with
integrated sound and NIC (Computer #1), the other is a
Dell powerEdge 400SC, with a Soundblaster Live and an
integrated Nic (Computer #2).

I am able to run netmeeting between both computers and
the camera, and voice communication works just fine.

Computer #2 has no problems connecting via netmeeting to
other computers on the internet and the sound and video
works fine.

Computer #1 will not transmit voice or video when
connected to other netmeeting users on the internet.

I've ruled out the router as a problem, as I've
configured both computers in the DMZ zone, and even have
bypassed the linksys router all together, so I am
confident to say that the problem lies with computer #1's
settings or somthing in it.

What's strange is that netmeeting works fine locally, but
not when going through the internet.

All firewall settings on computer #1 are turned off, and
I've disabled every other program that automatically
loads on #1.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm stumped.
Why would it transmit video and voice just fine locally,
but not out to the internet? I've checked the network
and bandwidth settings in netmeeting and both are
identical on both #1 and #2.

Thanks, Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm
getting very tired of my wife complaining about 'her
computer not working!'.

Sorry, but I don't have good advice for this problem. I've not seen this
one before.

You may wish to see http://www.meetingbywire.com/ for assistance.

Also, NetMeeting sound is a huge bandwidth hog and doesn't work that
well compared to using the phone. turn off sound on both machines and
use the phone. This approach will let you ignore your problem and get
on with the meeting.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.
