I am able to initiate Netmeeting in Win xp, from Windows Messenger
5.0, using a link provided by you.

But, all the options related to Voice & Camera are greyed out.

Start -> Run -> conf.exe should allow you to establish desktop icons if you
haven't already.

Are you saying when you run NetMeeting the audio/video tabs in tool->options
are inaccessible?

And that Tools -> Audio Tuning Wizard is inaccessible?

I presume you do have a sound card and a camera/

yes, exactly. My webcam & sound card are functioning and are active in win
messenger 5.0, from which i open net meeting, using "start netmeeting"
control. I want to use netmeeting for audio visual communication rather than
the win messenger 5.0. Thx.

Have you tried to run NetMeeting separately to set up the audio and video --
or even that shows no audio or video function?

Is this XP Pro -- a corporate desktop?

Yes, I did. Even when run separately, net meeting does not show audio &
video functions.

Yes, it is win xp pro. well, i don't know whether u call it corporate desk
top or not. It did ask for an administrator pass word at the time of
installation which i have set up. i am a single user using it.

Only two possibilities that I can think of:

1) audio/video in NetMeeting is forbidden by policy ( run->gpedit.msc to run
policy editor)
2) some other H.323 program is running on the machine preventing NetMeeting
from access the necessary ports for audio/video function

yes, the audio/ video options were forbidden in group policy. now i have
enabled them & Netmeeting is working normally.

Thank u so much for the help.

AFAIK this would need to have been done deliberately -- do you know how the
policy would have got set?

Don't really know! Only I use this machine.
Anyway, thanks so much for your valuable help.
